On this tour of the Vouga Ecopista, we invite you to explore one of the most enchanting stretches of the old Vouga Valley railway line, now transformed into a peaceful, ecological route, ideal for enjoying nature on two wheels. Between Oliveira de Frades and the Poço de Santiago Bridge, we'll explore a part of the region's history, where the whistling of the old train has given way to the gentle sound of bicycles and direct contact with the landscape.

Along the way, we'll pass by old stations and stops that once served the local population. Each stop tells a story: the people who boarded, the goods that arrived and those that continued on, the encounters and farewells that marked generations.

The route is marked by natural surroundings of great beauty, with wooded areas, small bridges and tunnels that preserve the charm of the original route.

We will cross valleys, streams, and agricultural fields, always with rivers nearby, reminding us of the importance of water and the rural landscape in the region's identity.

The Poço de Santiago Bridge, the final point of this route, is one of the most emblematic spots on the eco-trail, an imposing structure overlooking the valley, where the view is lost between the green and blue of the river.

This tour is a peaceful and sustainable way to explore the region, enjoy nature, and revisit the history of the railroad. It's ideal for those seeking active leisure time, in harmony with the environment and the region's serene rhythm.
